Arctic

Arctic (Ola Johannesen)

Goal:
Translate impact assessments of climate change in the
Arctic into effective policy measures.

Major finding:
Impacts like endangered livelihoods for indigenous
cultures and species as well as long-term sea level rise
go along with enhanced opportunities for transport and
exploitation of resources in sea sediments; this complex
situation requires an emphasis on improving energy
efficiency.

Funding agents:
Norwegian and German governments, EC
