The vision of establishing a capacity center within the European Climate Forum was born during the 2009 ECF annual convention in Venice. The driving idea of the ECF’s capacity center is to intensify and broaden the stakeholder dialogue on all facets of climate change by communicating the output from ECF’s core activities on a broader basis and thereby helping stakeholders to engage in sustainable development paths.
The mission of the ECF Capacity Center goes far beyond designing and coordinating training activities related to existing knowledge in the field of climate change. The reason is that the world is currently experiencing a tremendous change process. We know what the outcome must be, namely a decarbonized environment; however we are far from knowing all the answers to get there.
Against this background, the European Climate Forum wants to support stakeholders in adapting to changing needs by developing activities around the three main aspects of capacity building under the lead of the ECF Capacity Center:
Activities under the ECF Capacity Center are coordinated by Sebastian Gallehr and Katja Mayer.
